Selling Your Business – Employee Ownership for Dental Businesses

For many senior dental professionals, planning ownership succession is a challenge. Practices can, of course, be sold to big corporate buyers but there are alternatives. For our April webinar on 22nd April 2021 at 10 am we shall be focussing on the opportunity for dental businesses to become employee owned by using the Employee Ownership Trust approach. The information in this webinar may also be of interest to General Practitioners who are looking for a solution to their succession planning.

We are delighted to announce that our guest speakers at this webinar will be Mick Allen, George Warmisham and Malcolm Lynch.

  • Mick was formerly the owner of Gateway OHS dentists in Abergavenny and sold the company to his employees in 2016 when Mick had been appointed Consultant in Special Care Dentistry at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. Mick will explain why he chose employee ownership for his company using an Employee Ownership Trust. This journey can also be found described in an article at ‘BDJ in Practice’.
  • George Warmisham is a senior dentist, a Director of Gateway OHS and a Trustee of Gateway EOT Ltd. George will tell us how it works in practice, and the company’s experience so far.
  • Malcolm Lynch is a partner with Wrigleys Solicitors and was responsible for all the legal work in the sale of Gateway OHS to an Employee Ownership Trust. Malcolm will give his views on the key things to consider.

Our advisers Sarah, Branwen and Paul will also talk through all ownership succession options before focussing on employee ownership through an employee ownership trust and the various ways this can be done.

We aim to start at 10 am and conclude by 11.15am.

Sales for this event have now ended, but a recording will be made available so you can learn how you can use an employee ownership trust to achieve employee ownership and realise improved engagement and incentivisation of your team.
