Being an EO trustee comes with important responsibilities – including understanding how your business is performing financially, how tax affects the business and what questions you should be asking.

This practical Skills Clinic is designed to help EO trustees to understand financial information better and then to encourage better financial communication and reporting to the employeesto help develop an “owner’s” mindset.

Tax is a big issue, but this session will help provide understanding of the specific tax responsibilities and issues affecting the Trust, the Trustee and the company as a result of EO.

Armed with this information trustees can contribute effectively to the governance and future direction of their employee-owned business.

Who is this for?

This Skills Clinic is aimed at EO Trustees and employee representatives who want to improve their understanding of finance and tax issues, including the impact of the latest budget.

You don’t need to be a financial expert or accountant. The session is designed to make financial information more accessible and relevant to the role of an EO trustee and provide an overview of the tax implications.

Why attend?

By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of:

What the numbers mean • What trustees need to know • What questions to ask • Where to seek professional advice
